Brighton Thrash Crystal Palace 5–0 in Stunning Derby Victory

October 19, 2026 | Football

Brighton and Hove Albion delivered one of the most impressive performances of the Premier League weekend, defeating Crystal Palace 5–0 in a dominant display. The result gave Brighton a major boost and added further excitement to the battle near the top of the league table.

Brighton Take Control

Brighton showed attacking confidence throughout the match, creating opportunities and putting the Palace defence under sustained pressure. The team's movement and quick passing helped open spaces, allowing the home side to turn its attacking possession into goals.

One of the biggest talking points was Diego Gomez's remarkable long-range goal from around the halfway line. The strike recalled famous goals from football history and quickly became a highlight for supporters.

Pressure on Crystal Palace

For Crystal Palace, the heavy defeat raises questions about defensive organisation and the team's response to pressure. Conceding five goals in a major league fixture is a difficult setback, particularly in a derby where supporters expect a strong performance.

Brighton, meanwhile, will hope to carry this momentum into their upcoming matches. Maintaining consistency will be essential if they want to remain competitive throughout the season.
